In this video I get an exclusive first look at EcoWagon’s brand-new Expo+ conversion built on the all-new Volkswagen Transporter T7 (Commerce Pro). And yes, it might look familiar at a glance, but once you open the door it’s obvious this is a proper rework. The new Transporter is wider than the outgoing T6.1, so EcoWagon have been able to build wider units, which means more usable storage straight away. I also walk you around the base van spec (150 T32 auto in stone grey), the IQ lights, and the 20-inch Calibre alloys, plus the Reimo pop-top. The biggest change inside is the bed/seat setup. Because the California rails aren’t an option on this platform, EcoWagon have gone with a Stide sliding rail bed system that gives you a three-seat travel bench that folds out into a bed. I also cover the kitchen (50L Vitrifrigo fridge, hob/sink), hot water via a Pundmann system, and the option of gas vs induction—gas is still what a lot of people ask for, so this van has an underslung tank. Power-wise it’s stacked: 200Ah lithium, 250W solar, and a 1600W Victron inverter, plus Webasto heating because it works. And finally, I share the NEC “secret” and how the first three people who find the van and say the phrase can win a Yeti mug.
