I’m down at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC to hunt out the best new campervans I can find — and this is the first video of a few from the show. I’m not here to tell you what to buy (I genuinely don’t care what people buy), but I do want you to know what you’re buying. So I’m jumping between entry-level “price point” vans and full-fat luxury builds, pointing out the bits that actually matter in real use: bed systems, storage, power, toilets, and the little design details that make living in a van easier. I start with Vanworx and their new lower-entry Slipper on the Tourneo/Transit base (Austops roof, Froli bed, rib seat, Dometic kit, toilet storage, and sensible upgrade paths like bigger lithium or going gas-free). Then I revisit the Hillside MVX and explain why some choices (like gas) can be about space and certification, not “being behind the times”. From there I check out a green Bespoke Explore that’s close to my taste (but not quite — give me tan leather and the right floor!), plus the plug-in hybrid Transit that can run proper kit off the traction battery… including a Dometic air fryer and the Duo hob. I also show alternatives like the Citroën Holidays (SCA roof, rails, swing-out kitchen) and some genuinely different layouts — like the Westfalia Kipling with pods to sleep across and a hidden slide-out toilet. And yes, I’ve still got time to get distracted by people… because the biggest takeaway from this show is the people.
