Good evening STS followers—this Side Track Sunday (March 1st, 2026) I’m basically talking through the current state of the Boeville & Newtown, YouTube, and the hobby in general… and yeah, two minutes in I already had issues. On the layout side, I’ve been grinding away on the second deck to get that interurban line running right, and I ran into a track problem while filming that needed immediate attention. One cut piece had rails that weren’t the same length, and my older Mantua/Tyco streetcars absolutely hated it—while the newer IHC car ran right across like nothing happened. I unsoldered the bad section, put in a new piece, and now the second deck track wiring is done. From here, the next big push is scenery—because I’ve said it time and time and time again, I want to get more of it knocked out (and yes, the “damn scene” is still a top priority). I also lay out the three critical projects that all tie together: building a 3-stall roundhouse (no, I don’t have the real estate for five), finishing the warehouse, and redoing the Boeville Yard control panel since I’m rewiring that whole roundhouse area anyway. Along the way I show the brick sheet surprise from Amazon (packaging size vs. actual sheet size), my 3D-printed window experiments (including the mullions not always printing), and the 3D-printed roundhouse parts that are going to be a project—paint first, assemble after.
