About This Video

Oh, hello Track Gang—Episode 7 for 2026 is one of those weeks where I came in thinking I was going to “just finish wiring,” and then the railroad decided to remind me who’s really in charge. I keep pushing forward on the second deck buss wiring for the interurban line, starting on Uptown Boeville and working my way around toward Downtown. I also talk through why I’ll pull flex track off-layout to solder feeders first—if it’s already apart, fix it while it’s apart. The goal is simple: better electrical performance, smoother running, and fewer headaches later. Of course, I managed to create a little havoc. I found a deck/backdrop alignment issue in the corner and then ran into a bigger conundrum after cutting foam/plywood for a station/platform viewing area. The cutout idea is still solid—I want you to be able to see down into the terminal and not have the main lines feel “covered up”—but because that section is removable, I’ve got to rethink the support. I talk through the fix (a diagonal cut so there’s still “meat” to hold the track) and the foam-shedding problem I get from using what I had on hand. I also squeeze in a quick mail call (a Neewer tripod dolly with bigger wheels—because carpet) and I wrap up with channel/subscriber shoutouts and a Sidetrack Sunday reminder. One project leads to another… famous last words.
