About This Video

Well, hello Track Gang—this is Boeville & Newtown Episode 8 for 2026, and I’m still digging into Boeville (part three). This week I bounce between the station area and Boeville Yard, and I show you what’s actually getting done versus what I thought I was going to get done. I cut out the foam core parts for the stairwells and elevators, and I finally solved the “where do you find an HO scale elevator door?” problem by printing doors that John #2 helped put together. The first print was way too thin (basically one layer), so I thickened it up in the slicer/editor and printed six doors—three for the passenger platforms and three upstairs in the station. On the layout itself, I modify the station/second deck area and talk through the “crumblies” problem and how I’m planning to hide edges and gaps with foam core and fascia. I’m repurposing old paneling for fascia—reuse, recycle, all that—because it’s what I’ve got, and it’ll do the job. Wiring-wise, I got track soldered, dropped feeders, and started the bus wire, but being on call derailed the schedule a bit. Over in Boeville Yard, I get into the roundhouse floor prints and the headaches that come with parts designed for roadbed when my yard is track-right-on-homasote. I walk through the print failures, the workaround using intermediate floor sections, and the plan to shorten the roundhouse depth to fit my 8.5–9 inch locomotives. I also talk about turnout alignment issues near the diesel fueling facility and whether I’m going to “whoop-dedoo” it with flex track or rework the geometry.
