Hey track gang—welcome back to Boeville & Newtown, Episode 38 for 2025. This one is all about the subscriber vote result and what you all wanted to see next, and the overwhelming answer was: “Run an op session.” So I jump right into the B&N operating setup, give a full background for the newer folks, and then start building and moving trains 1 thru 4. I also touch on the meet-and-greet at the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium and how much I enjoyed hanging out with everybody. I walk through how my DC HO scale railroad actually works: 34 feet by 8 feet, two-track main, bridge route vibes between Richmond and Harrisburg, and a 56-train “fast clock” day. I show my train card system (northbounds are even, southbounds are odd), explain mixed freights vs unit trains, and why transition cars matter when you’re living in a world of KDs and horn hooks at the same time. Then we build the northbound chemical tank train and the southbound coal drag, fight the usual “everything runs great until somebody’s watching” derailment, and finish by breaking the trains down and staging what’s next.
