Hey track gang—this week’s Boeville & Newtown update is my post-GSMTS and BSM Meet & Greet “fiasco” recap, and I mean that in the best possible way. I walk back through the whole weekend: the Great Scale Model Train Show, the meet & greet, the open houses at Joe’s and at my place, and then the Street Car Museum visit. We had a great group, a lot of laughs, and yeah… I’m still kicking myself for not getting enough pictures. Next year, I’m fixing that with a guest book so I can actually remember everybody that comes through here (because I’m getting old and things go in one ear and out the other). Back in the workshop, I dig into the “everything works great until someone’s watching” gremlins. I troubleshoot an AHM B&O unit with that goofy spring-loaded coupler setup, rework a BNN dummy truck that was tight and out of gauge, and convert a Tyco gondola over to Kadees. I also show off a couple awesome gifts from the weekend—an 0-4-0 switcher and a streetcar—and get them cleaned up and running. I wrap it up with where my head’s at on scenery, the dam, the backdrop oops, and why the family vibe in this community is what keeps me pushing forward.
