Hey track gang—episode 32 for 2025 is a short update, but there’s still a bunch packed in. I kick things off with a mail call from one of my longtime subscribers, Manny Fernandez. He hooked me up with a full stack of those little paint “pallet” trays I’ve been using, plus a truck tuning tool that’s going to come in real handy going forward. I also share the simple way I’ve been keeping paint colors consistent—Ziploc bag, squeeze the air out, seal it up, and I can revive it later with a little water. On the layout side, I show the progress on my backdrop painting and how I finally got past a bit of a block—thanks to the community for the help. The old “friar’s brown” was just too dark for what I wanted, but it actually worked great for the tree line contrast, and the lighter brown I mixed in really improved the look. I’ve still got some tweaking to do right under the tree line, but overall I’m much happier with where it’s headed.
