Hey track gang—this week’s Boeville & Newtown update is mostly about getting my Walthers 90’ turntable back into the railroad and back to a point where I can run ops again. I had it apart on the bench and, yeah… I didn’t record the frustrating parts. I was chasing intermittent conductivity, had to reopen the white wire ring because I forgot to feed the black wire through first, and I was seeing about 97–98% continuity at first (black rail was solid, the red/white side was the trouble spot). Once I cleaned up some really dirty rail on the bridge and tightened everything back up, I’m happy to report I’ve got conductivity all the way around now. I also talk about the Timonium Great Scale Model Train Show coming up October 25th and 26th at the Timonium State Fairgrounds, and my plan for a Saturday meet-and-greet around 11:00 AM in the back corner of the central hall/food court area. On the “beast” computer side, I did a test stream (now private) and the new rig handled OBS, StreamYard, browsers, monitoring tools, and more without breaking a sweat—but I ran into a motherboard limitation on camera count, so long-term I’ll need a Windows 11-compatible PCIe USB expansion card if I want to run six cameras. For now, the turntable’s back, ops are possible again, and my next big push needs to be scenery—because October will be here before we know it.
