About This Video

Hey Track Gang—this week’s Episode 25 for 2025 is definitely a little different for Boeville & Newtown. Instead of layout updates, I’m walking you through a brand-new PC build I put together from the ground up so I can edit and stream better. My old Windows 10 machine just wasn’t up to the task anymore, and with everything I want to do on the channel, it finally became a necessity. I also had to get a little creative just to film it, because the one monitor I had left quit on me—so I dragged out my old projector and threw foam core on the wall so I could see what I was doing. I go over the parts and show the machine inside the Fractal Pop XL Air case—Ryzen 5, ASRock B650 board, 32GB Kingston Fury RAM, an XFX RX 580 GPU, dual SATA SSDs (500GB OS drive + 2TB storage), and even an optical drive. Total cost landed around $1,400 with Windows 11 and everything else. I also found a couple “well…doesn’t it figure?” issues, like Windows 11 not recognizing my older USB hub and the motherboard limiting me to three cameras—so if I want more cameras for streaming, I’ll be adding a USB PCI card. Railroad-wise, the turntable is still on the bench, and I’m hoping to get back to it once life calms down.
