About This Video

Hey track gang—this is Episode 1 for 2026, but I filmed it at the tail end of 2025, and it’s my full year-in-review plus where I want to take the Boeville & Newtown next. I talk through what actually got done in 2025 (even if it doesn’t look like it at first glance): getting more confident with the 3D printer, cranking out car card and train card boxes, adding those shuffle shelves out front, and even starting to dabble in 3D printed rolling stock—like that heavy haul flat car I’ve wanted forever but could never justify buying on my budget. I also hit some layout milestones like painting the backdrop, reworking the “dam scene” (yes, the damn scene), improving storage over the hidden yards, and getting a couple ops sessions going. Then I lay out my 2026 “New Year’s goals” (not resolutions—goals can move, because life happens). The big push is better operations tracking and maintenance planning. I’m building an Excel-based system to track how often locomotives and cars run, so I can treat maintenance like real equipment—regular checkups and a yearly “field strip” teardown. On the layout side, I want to finish scenery on the south end through Uptown Boeville (including the Boeville Warehouse), rethink Union Station, rework downtown Boeville, stretch into Ward Hill/WERT Industrial, and update the Boeville Yard control panel proof-of-concept into the real deal.
