Heat. Heat. And then… surprise! I popped on for an unscheduled Tuesday evening Sew Let’s Get It Finished because I’m about to be gone for basically two weeks, and I didn’t want to leave Sunday’s project hanging. In this stream I’m working on finishing up my progress pride flag top—simple half-square-triangle goodness, but you do have to pay attention to direction and layout so the design reads correctly. I’m chain piecing, checking against a reference photo, pressing seams (yes, “press it real good”), and trying to keep this one moving so I can actually eat dinner at a reasonable hour. Along the way we chat about all the usual real-life sewing stuff: vintage machine quirks, tension going a little wiggly for a second, and why I like staying on the same machine for a project (I’m keeping this one on the Featherweight). I also talk through a quick stabilizer tip for baskets (Soft and Stable is my go-to, and doubling it up can make it super rigid—just bulky to sew). Plus, I give reminders about upcoming livestreams (including the Cutterpillar chat), Disney countdown energy, and the general chaos that happens when a “random live” turns into a full-on hangout.
