In this video I finally stop talking about it and actually start making the Bitsy Box (my first one ever), which is basically the cutest tiny little zippered box you can stitch up for chapstick, clips, snips…whatever little nonsense you need contained. I pulled fabric straight from my overflowing scrap situation, and Donna’s adorable reversible basket totally inspired the vibe for today’s color choice. We walk through the early construction steps together: I prep my pieces, mark and sew the quilting-style grid (half-inch lines, then stitching in between), trim it down, and start attaching the zipper—without giving away any of the pattern’s measurements because pattern designers deserve to be paid. You’ll also see some real-life sewing moments: swapping presser feet, adding a seam guide, catching myself before doing a “very bad thing” with the wrong stitch plate, and generally keeping it honest while we figure it out as we go.
