About This Video

Hey everybody, it’s Ian the Off-Kilter Crafter, and this video is my October 2025 month recap—aka spooky season flew by way too fast and I’m not emotionally prepared to take my Halloween quilts off the wall yet. October was one of those “busy crafting life” months where I didn’t feel like I got a ton done… and then I realized I didn’t take a single note all month, so we’re vibing on memory. The biggest win? The State Fair of Virginia. None of my quilts ribboned, but my bags sure did: my A Place for Everything bag took first place and my Holland duffel bag took second. And the absolute best surprise was discovering a People’s Choice ribbon tucked into Becca’s Mufasa quilt when I picked everything up—cue the screaming like little schoolgirls. On the sewing side, I knocked out more Halloween tops: the Layer Cake Lattice quilt (super quick and fun) and the Fat Quarter Mixer quilt, which is a big 90"-ish square because I’m 6'2" and I need quilt real estate. I also finally got an edited tutorial out—a quilted candy bag/vinyl can zipper project—complete with the oopsies left in, because that’s real sewing. And yes… I started playing Fortnite, which has definitely competed with sewing room time, but it’s also been a really fun way to hang out with friends back in DFW. I also shout out recent podcast episodes and the Cotton Cuts Puzzle Mystery Quilt reveal (Flyway) that’s coming up fast.
