Hey everybody, it’s Ian the Off Kilter Crafter, and yes—I’m back in my captain outfit because it’s time for another cruise update. In this video I finally reveal the project we’ll be making for the Alaskan cruise (which is somehow less than a year away and also still feels forever away). Y’all have been chomping at the bit, so I’m not dragging it out: we’re doing a Bargello inspired by the Alaskan Northern Lights. This quilt is a beautifully complex design with a ton of movement, finishing around 76" x 90" (give or take). It uses 15 fabrics, and I know that sounds like a lot—because it is a lot—but it’s going to be so gorgeous when it’s all said and done. Becca is making the solids version (that’s also the version we’re trying to turn into kits), I’m making mine with the Juicy Juice 40 collection, and Tiffany is going full scrappy like she does. I also talk about labeling fabrics, why I overbought (testing = extra insurance), and a big cruise seat update: we’re almost sold out, so if you’ve been on the fence… now’s the time.
