In this video I’m breaking down why I picked up the Fujifilm X-E3 and why I honestly think it’s getting slept on as an everyday camera. This isn’t a formal review—I’ve been testing a bunch of Fuji bodies on the channel (X-E4, X100V) trying to figure out what’s the perfect “dad cam,” something I can grab daily to document my family and real life. For me, Fuji’s color and film simulations are a huge part of the appeal, and I keep seeing people jump to the X-E2, X-E1, or X-E4 while skipping the X-E3… and I think that’s a mistake. I wanted to put the X-E3 through its paces on a professional fashion shoot to see if it could hang in a real workflow—not just street/travel vibes. I shot model Angie at my studio (Sage Studios) using the Fuji 35mm f/2 (which is basically a 50mm equivalent on this crop sensor). We built a few moody, filmic lighting setups using my Forza 500, an RGB light, and a 120d—plus some mylar paper to create those experimental, reflective patterns I’ve been seeing online. In post, I liked the images, but I’m real about the limitations: you don’t get the same latitude as my Canon R6, autofocus is a bit softer, and you really want to nail exposure because you can’t push highlights/shadows too hard without noise. If you’re tempted by the overpriced X100V market, I’d seriously consider the X-E3 as an interchangeable-lens beast. And before anyone comes for me—I’m still Canon for life, I just like keeping photography exciting.
