Studio Fashion Photography Lighting Techniques - In this video, I break down my Office Siren fashion shoot and share the exact studio lighting techniques I used. With just two lights — a Nanlite Forza 500 and an Amaran 300c — I created three unique looks with subtle adjustments. Shot on the Canon R5C for stills and the Canon C70 for video, this setup shows how small changes in intensity and placement can completely transform the mood in fashion photography. About This Video

In this video I’m breaking down my “Office Siren” studio fashion shoot and the exact lighting techniques I used to get three totally different editorial looks without rebuilding the whole set. The concept was simple: take everyday office elements—desk, phones, folders, post-it notes—and flip them into something bold, editorial, and a little provocative. Think Devil Wears Prada in a studio, but more playful. The key for me was keeping the theme consistent (the phone became my recurring prop) while shifting styling, posing, and light to tell a full story. Lighting-wise, I kept a consistent base: my key was a Nanlite Forza 500 with a beauty dish, shot through a large diffusion frame (like a 5-in-1 reflector) for flattering but still controlled light. For separation, I used an Amaran 300c in a strip softbox boomed overhead and slightly behind as a top/hair light. From there, it was all about subtle changes—maxing everything bright for the “power” look, dialing down the key and letting the back light wrap more for the playful chaos, then lowering fill/key and pushing contrast for the moody, dramatic look. On that third look, I did add a sneaky extra: an Amaran 200D between two V-flats to create a thin strip of side light and carve her out.
