About This Video

In this fashion photoshoot behind the scenes, I’m taking you from the initial feeling that sparked the idea all the way to the finished images. I’ve been craving something more moody, sharp, and a little surreal, so I built the whole concept around this insane studio location with a dope top light. The ceiling instantly gave me “bat cave from The Dark Knight” vibes—sterile, underground, futuristic—so I leaned into minimalism and tension, like the model is in her own world inside a black box. I break down my full creative brief process: pulling references from Instagram and Pinterest, organizing mood boards in Canva, and styling the wardrobe myself. Gear-wise, I shot digital on my Canon R5C with the 28–70, and I mixed in medium format and 35mm film with the Mamiya 645 AFD and Nikon F4. Lighting stayed intentionally simple because I was solo—I used the RGB LED ceiling as my main “party trick,” plus a Forza 500 with a big softbox when I needed hard punch or soft fill. We ran three looks: a reflective black-on-black trench vibe, a minimal blown-out white look, and a red RGB setup that went dark, dangerous, and underexposed on purpose. It wasn’t perfect (I wanted more time and a team), but it was a huge learning experience—especially as I’m still building confidence with film—and I’m excited to do more creative briefs like this.
