Retouch4Me reached out to offer me a chance to try their AI-based photo retouching plugins. I was thrilled since I’ve actually purchased and used their plugins before, even highlighting their Dodge & Burn plugin in a previous video on this channel. I see AI as a valuable tool for creatives, helping us streamline our workflow and bring our vision to life more efficiently. About This Video

Retouching photos as a creative professional can feel like that classic “jack of all trades, master of none” situation—especially when you’re expected to do what whole teams handle at higher levels. In this video, I walk through how I retouch photos using AI with Retouch4Me plugins inside my real-world workflow. I’ve been a professional photographer for over 15 years, I’m not a dedicated pro retoucher, but I’ve retouched plenty of images (and even been paid for it). AI tools like this don’t replace a high-end retoucher, but they can absolutely support your work and help you move faster. I show you my step-by-step process from a recent fashion shoot with a model named Emily. I start in Lightroom to balance exposure and apply my creative looks (LUTs/presets), then I bring the image into Photoshop. From there, I duplicate my base layer so I can toggle before/after at every stage, and then I run specific plugins for specific jobs: Clean Backdrop for dust/folds on seamless, Heal for minor skin imperfections, Dodge & Burn (my favorite) for that airbrushed smoothing and under-eye cleanup, and Portrait Volumes for added depth and contour—while being mindful it can affect clothing and background. Finally, I’ll often add a little grain depending on the client deliverable and turnaround needs.
