In this video I tackle what I genuinely think is one of the worst things Games Workshop has ever conceived: the classic flying stand connection. Holding a big Eldar grav tank by a tiny, fragile peg and a little hole is just ridiculous, especially when I’m planning to play an Eldar army and I need something that survives actual games. So I set myself three requirements: the stand must be sturdy, it must be removable (on and off whenever I want), and it has to look good on the table. My solution is based on a Valkyrie flying stem and base. It’s not perfect, but it’s the best I’ve found that you can just buy, and it gives you a really nice, bigger base for better presentation. I reinforce the tab (because it’s designed to snap, and I don’t want that), then I cut a clean slot through the base strut so the tab passes through and locks in tight. I show you how I use tape as a cutting guide, how to score carefully if you don’t have a saw, and how to sand the cut flat so everything sits properly. The result looks professional, hides the ugly bits from low angles, and—most importantly—feels solid enough for a “proper flying stand for a proper tank.”
