In this video I did a mostly-Olaplex silk press at home on my kinky coily (type 4) hair, and I’m not gonna lie… the transformation ate. I started with a clean-slate mindset because I want these bond repair products to actually penetrate my strands—not sit on top of old wash-n-go product. Even though No.0 says dry hair, I still prefer going in after I’ve shampooed and towel-dried, then I layered No.0 and No.3 and let No.3 sit for 10 minutes (not overnight—longer doesn’t mean better, consistency does). After that, I clarified with No.4C and actually let it sit like the bottle says, then tested the new Rich Hydration Mask. It smelled fresh and pleasant, but it did not “instantly detangle” for me—I still had to detangle normally. For scalp, I used No.0.5 in my problem areas and started straightening prep with No.9 + No.5 leave-in to blow dry (that combo made my hair feel nourished, soft, and already shiny). I did deviate for one step and layered The Doux One Pass Press for extra heat protection, then sealed everything with a few drops of No.7. My hair felt weightless, flake-free, and the straightener glided without a bunch of snapping—definitely a win for my at-home press.
