Y’all, this monthly hair vlog is me being real about where I’m at with my hair right now—because I was truly overdue for a trim and I was this close to chopping it all off. I started the vlog with my hair straight for almost two weeks, dealing with the cold-weather “scalp snow,” and trying to be gentle with Fred while I kicked off the revert process. I pre-pooed with Pattern’s Breakage Barrier Mask, talked through how I’ve been way too harsh on my hair lately, and how I’m trying to end the year speaking life into my hair instead of constantly critiquing it. From there, it’s wash-and-go life, stretching, refreshing, and me finally admitting I don’t love how my wash and go’s have been looking lately. I trimmed my own ends a little (because the straight pieces were literally hanging), then went back in on scalp care with Dermazen and followed up with a full wash day using an exfoliating scrub and a moisture/protein balancing mask. The big takeaway: when I slow down, take bigger sections with foam, and really smooth my ends, my definition and clumping come back. I also straightened my hair again for the holidays, tested how it held up in Florida humidity, and ended the year planning a proper January trim—because 2026 is giving “Fred back in business.”
