In this video I’m sharing my current fountain pen + ink collection for 2024, and I’m walking you through what I actually use (and what’s just sitting around). I’ve been using fountain pens for 6+ years, and because I’m a minimalist, I keep my collection pretty small and practical—things I’ll realistically reach for on a daily basis. I go pen-by-pen through my lineup: my very first Pilot Metropolitan (which is now my go-to daily pen), the Platinum Preppy that made me fall deeply in love with fountain pens, my Lamy Safari souvenir from Austria, and my Pilot Custom 74 (soft fine) that feels like absolute perfection for journaling. I also share a few fun extras—like my cute Hello Kitty Platinum pens, some vintage Pilot finds with a quirky squeeze converter, and my matte black Pilot Vanishing Point that I’m actually trying to sell (not because it’s bad, but because it’s not the right fit for my small hands and I wish I’d chosen extra fine). Then we move into inks: my Pilot black cartridges staple, my first bottle ever (Monteverde Caribbean Blue), Noodler’s Apache/Southwest Sunset, and my beloved Pilot Iroshizuku shades (Shin-Ryoku is my all-time favorite). I swatch shimmers with a glass dip pen and share my biggest takeaway: expensive doesn’t equal better—fit, comfort, and the writing experience matter most.
