In this review I put the ASUS ROG Raikiri 2 Pro (don’t let the Roman numerals confuse you—this is the sequel, part deuce) through the full Gamer Heaven treatment: unboxing, comfort, buttons, sticks, rear paddles, latency testing, software, and whether it actually deserves the “Elite Series 2 killer” label. I bought my unit off Amazon with my own duckets, so when I say this makes the Microsoft Elite 2 feel pointless at MSRP, I mean it. The OG Raikiri was kind of a turd—this one is better in basically every way. The big wins are the TMR anti-drift stick modules (more accurate and lower power than Hall effect), 4 rear buttons that are remappable on the fly (no Armory Crate required), and legit 1000Hz polling on PC wired (and very low latency on the dongle too). I also cover the mechanical D-pad, mechanical face buttons (too light, but fast), the excellent dual-mode triggers with micro-switch locks, and the surprisingly comfy rubber grips with great breathability. My main knocks: the dock feels cheap, the manual’s rear-button remap instructions are wrong, and converter/adapter support for PS5/Switch didn’t work for me. Verdict: for $190, this is the best wireless Xbox pro controller I’ve tested right now for price-to-performance.
