In this video I’m basically confessing something I’ve been thinking behind the scenes: my two favorite controllers right now both have “ultimate controller” potential… if they could just be mixed into one. I’m talking about the Hex Phantom Hall Effect DualSense build and the Razer Raiju V3 Pro. I’ve been using these nonstop for everything from Call of Duty and Apex to Arc Raiders, Fortnite, and even my modded Fallout 4 runs, and each one nails things the other one fumbles. The Hex Phantom Hall Effect is my favorite overall controller at the moment, mostly because of how it feels in-hand and those included thumbstick caps (wide, tall, concave, and crazy grippy for tracking and micro-corrections). But the cons are real: I’m only getting about 6 hours of battery even with every battery-draining feature turned off, and the trigger stop kit isn’t the most durable if you’re hammering the triggers. Meanwhile the Raiju’s triggers are built like a tank and the battery life is in a completely different league (I’m getting ~34–35 hours), plus it has one of the most comfortable, intuitive rear button systems I’ve ever used—along with extra bumpers that just make too much sense. The problem is the Raiju can introduce a bit of input delay on PS5 when that wireless dongle gets hot, which is why I don’t grab it for serious competitive PS5 sessions anymore. So yeah—give me the Raiju bumpers, triggers, and rear system inside the Hex Phantom Hall Effect DualSense body, and I’d be thumping and pumping on the perfect controller.
