There’s a catastrophic issue I ran into with the new Razer Raiju V3 Pro on PS5, and it’s the kind of problem you don’t notice in a 20-minute first impression. After about 180 hours of stick time, I started getting very real, very human-noticeable input lag when using the 2.4GHz dongle—specifically after longer sessions. The controller itself is still phenomenal, and I’ve called it one of the best PS5 controllers I tested… but this dongle behavior is a big deal when you paid pro-controller money to be wireless. Here’s what’s happening: after roughly 2–4 hours, the dongle gets hot (especially when it’s plugged into the back of a PS5 sitting in an entertainment center), and that’s when the delay creeps in. You’ll feel it most on the sticks—strafing and aiming gets jumpy, skippy, and even “stuck” for a split second on hard flicks. It’s worse on a PS5 Pro because you’re forced into the back ports (and no, my USB-A to USB-C adapter wasn’t recognized), but I also reproduced it on my launch PS5. Wired mode fixes it, which tells me it’s dongle-related, and now I’m hoping this is something Razer can patch via firmware rather than a hardware/thermal limitation.
