About This Video

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you already know this one was a nightmare—my Gmail got hacked, and because that Gmail was linked to my YouTube, everything got signed out within minutes. In this video I break down exactly how it happened: a super “normal-looking” brand collaboration email landed straight in my inbox (not even spam), I replied, clicked a link, filled a form, and right after submitting I started getting security alerts on my recovery email. Before I could even process it, my password was changed, my 2FA methods were changed, and even my mobile number “didn’t exist” anymore. I also share what I did next—trying Google’s automated support (which is honestly not straightforward), opening a case, and then getting real help by reaching out to the official YouTube/Google support on Twitter. Within a few days, Google blocked the compromised account for security and later sent me an advanced recovery option so I could add an alternate email and reset everything. Biggest takeaway: don’t trust sponsorship emails just because they look legit. Verify the sender, double-check everything, and treat every link like it can ruin your whole creator setup—YouTube, AdSense, bank cards, Google Photos, all of it.
