How is the Carnivore diet going for me?

I last announced about a month or so ago that I have been experimenting with the carnivore diet lifestyle. I tend to do more of the "keto-vore" approach where I'm 90-95% carnivore with a little tiny option of non-carnivore foods here and there, but mostly meat, dairy, eggs, seafood, etc. Have you tried the carnivore diet, and if so, how did it go for you? How did you stick with it??

About This Video

In this video I’m giving you a real-life update on how my carnivore (really more “ketovore”) experiment has been going. I’m about 90–95% carnivore most of the time—meat, eggs, dairy, seafood—and I keep plants very minimal. I’m not a purist and I’m not trying to be; if I want a tiny bit of non-carnivore food here and there, I allow it, because I’m focused on what’s sustainable for me. The biggest wins have been stable blood sugar, fewer cravings, and how satiated I feel eating higher fat (I’m one of those people who loves fat—ribeyes, ribs, cheese… all of it). That stability has helped my binge eating disorder, plus my mood, energy, and mental clarity have been noticeably better, which matters a lot because I need to be sharp at work. The hard part is sticking with it when life is full of carbs—treats at work, happy hour, and just constant temptation—because I’ve struggled with yo-yo dieting and willpower for years. Scale-wise, I’m sitting around 185–186 right now, which is frustrating because I was 172 about six weeks ago, then binge eating kicked in and I climbed up to the 190s. I’ve meal prepped low-carb meals and I want to get back on track, but with binge eating you never know. I’m still a big fan of carnivore/low carb—the question is whether I can stick with it long term.
