In this video I take a look at something a bit different for my channel: the WELOCK Smart Lock Cylinder ToucA51 with fingerprint recognition, keypad and RFID. Welock reached out and asked if I’d do a quick review, and I thought why not—it's totally unrelated to 3D printing, but I do love a good hands-on tech review. I unbox it, show you exactly what you get (instructions, RFID cards, extension parts, Allen keys, screws, and even a handy little Phillips screwdriver), and I point out one important thing: it doesn’t come with the actual lock connection piece from your existing door, so keep that when you remove your old cylinder. I then run through setup and installation. It uses 3x AAA batteries (not included), and once you add the small sealing screw it fully closes up the battery compartment for waterproofing. Setup is straightforward: you change the default admin passcode (it starts as 123456), then add admin fingerprint and RFID, and you can add up to around 20 users. In use, the outside knob just spins until you authenticate, then it locks/unlocks properly. For me it’s going on my studio door—quick to fit (about 10 minutes), a really unique design, and a proper thumbs up if you want to share access with multiple people like family, friends, or even an Airbnb.
