About This Video

In this video I unbox and put the Anycubic Kobra S1 Max through its paces, including how easy it is to get going, what you actually get in the box, and what it’s like to live with day-to-day. This is the big one: 350 x 350 x 350 build volume, CoreXY, fully enclosed, 350°C hotend, 120°C bed, plus a heated chamber that’ll go up to 65°C. I also cover the Ace 2 Pro (A2 Pro) multi-colour unit that came with my combo, because on my original S1 review the older Ace unit gave me a lot of grief—single colour was fine, multi-colour was not. I ran long, real-world prints to test reliability, including a massive Deadpool mask that took 103+ hours (nearly 4 days). Despite losing a bunch of supports mid-print and having to pause to swap a filament roll, the machine kept going and the final result came out really clean overall. I also show the side poop chute (and my simple grease trick to stop purges catching), the camera/app monitoring, and the quick-release nozzle system—super fast, but I was disappointed the “0.6” spare nozzle didn’t seem to match what was actually in the head. My takeaway: so far the S1 Max has genuinely ticked the boxes for large-format printing and has been far more positive than my earlier S1 experience. Multi-colour still creates serious waste (single toolhead reality), but for big cosplay-style prints and enclosed/heated-chamber materials like ASA, this one’s been impressively solid in my testing.
