JAYO J1 FilaDryer – Filament Dryer for Better 3D Prints In this video I take a look at the JAYO J1 FilaDryer, a compact filament dryer designed to remove moisture from 3D printing filament. Wet filament can cause stringing, popping, weak layers, and poor surface quality. Drying your filament helps improve print strength and consistency. The JAYO J1 features adjustable temperature control, humidity monitoring, and a modular stackable design. It supports common materials like PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, and Nylon, making it a useful tool for keeping filament in good printing condition. About This Video

In this video I take a proper look at the JAYO J1 FilaDryer and why it’s definitely something to check out if you’re getting stringing, popping, weak layers or just inconsistent surface finish from damp filament. This is a modular, stackable setup: you’ve got the heating base at the bottom, and you can add extra dry storage boxes on top to save space and keep multiple spools stored with desiccant. I show a quick unboxing so you can see exactly what you get—dry chamber, desiccant box, rollers/bearings, filament holder, two PTFE tubes (about 1m each), and the power cable—then I run through the simple setup and how the humidity display works. The heater unit is a 150W PTC system and it’ll go up to 70°C, with presets for PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, PA and PC, plus you can tweak temps and time yourself from the front panel. I also show a real before/after example using wood filament that had been sat around for a while—after drying, the print quality is a marked improvement. My main “wish list” item is that you can’t heat two stacked boxes at the same time, but overall it’s a nice budget filament dryer that doubles as dry storage, and it’s dead easy to “whack it back on the dryer” if you see humidity creeping up.
