About This Video

In this short one, I’m answering a question I’ve had loads of times about the Creality Hi Combo print head: what nozzle is it actually using, and can you swap in the same quick-swap tri-metal nozzles from machines like the K1 Max (and possibly the K2 Plus)? I show you how to take the head apart, what’s inside (part cooling blowers, heatsink fan, filament cutter, built-in filament detector, and the extruder behind the board), and how to remove the heat sock and nozzle. The big takeaway is that yes, it’s a quick-swap tri-metal nozzle, but it’s not the same as my K1 Max spares. The Hi Combo nozzle is noticeably longer with a different thread length—around 77mm versus about 65mm on the K1 Max—so you can’t just drop your K1 Max 0.2/0.4/0.6 nozzles in and expect it to work. I also point out a couple of physical details: the side part-cooling ducts are rubber (different to what I’m used to), and there’s a rubbing point that creates debris and that “funny squealing noise.” Overall though, the Hi Combo has been churning out some amazing colour prints—this video is mainly to help you pick the right spare nozzles and avoid wasting money.
