In this video I’m taking a proper hands-on look at the Snapmaker U1, Snapmaker’s new 4-toolhead multi-colour printer, and honestly… it shocked me in so many ways. Snapmaker sent this unit in for review, but I approached it exactly like I’d spent my own money—and by the end of testing I’m telling you straight: I’m going to buy more of these myself. I go through the unboxing experience (the packaging is seriously protective), what you actually get in the box, and the setup process, which was one of the easiest I’ve done—especially compared to bigger multi-tool builds I’ve done in the past. I break down the key specs and what matters in real use: 270×270×270 build volume, CoreXY motion, 0.4mm stainless nozzle (300°C max), 100°C bed, 3.5” responsive screen, bright internal LED, 26GB internal storage, plus a 2MP chamber camera for monitoring and timelapses. The big win here is the multi-toolhead approach: tool swaps are around 10–15 seconds and waste is basically just a prime tower and a small removable purge tray—no massive “poop chute” waste like a lot of other multicolour systems. I also show real prints (Pipe Cox mask, Nostalgic 3D models, gifts, full-bed articulated prints), a mid-print filament runout recovery, and why this has become one of my top printers of 2025.
