About This Video

In this video I take a look at the Mintion professional heat press kit (also called the NUTOPRESS) for installing heat-set inserts into 3D prints. Mintion contacted me to see if I had a use for it, and it’s the sort of tool that makes sense if you’re building projects that need threaded inserts—like the Death Racer kits from The Real Sam Prentice. I walk through the unboxing, what you actually get in the box (including the handy drawer full of tips, inserts and tools), and how the whole thing goes together. From unboxing to built took me roughly 10 minutes, and the setup is genuinely straightforward—only seven steps in the manual. I also show the mechanism in action and talk through the temperature controls and material ranges (PLA, ABS, PET, nylon and TPU) so you’re not overheating things and wrecking tips or prints. My quick demo was on a hollow PLA part so it pushed in a bit too far, but it still shows how easy it is to align and press consistently. Overall, I like the tidy storage, the smooth lowering/retractable mechanism for precision, and at around £35 I think it’s a solid little addition to a crafting/3D printing workspace (just note mine arrived with a non‑UK plug).
