I can’t believe I’m saying this, but cloud gaming on Mac can feel insanely good—if your network is actually set up right. In this video I tested cloud gaming with titles that don’t even open on my Mac, like Call of Duty: Warzone, and I was seeing around 100–110 FPS at 4K on extreme settings (even higher with frame generation). The image quality looked amazing, input lag was basically not a thing, and mouse/keyboard + controller felt almost like I was playing natively. I also tried Cyberpunk 2077 and finally got to enjoy ray tracing and path tracing fully enabled with a rock-solid 60–65 FPS. But then the problem showed up: stuttering. At first I blamed my Mac, video decoding, or even GeForce NOW, but the real issue was my old Wi‑Fi setup (I was still on a basic 2.4 GHz ISP gateway). I upgraded to the TP‑Link Deco BE63 (Wi‑Fi 7) for the lower latency features like wider channels and MLO, and it helped—but the real “fix” was going wired. Once I ran Ethernet from the Deco’s 2.5Gb port straight into my Mac mini, the Wi‑Fi jitter disappeared instantly. My takeaway: cloud gaming is surprisingly good on Mac, but stability matters more than raw speed, and LAN is still king.
