In this video, I unbox the Ryoko Floor Clock Bookshelf and assemble it with you step by step. Right from the start, I go through the box, pull out all the panels, shelves, hardware, and the manual, and I remind you to count your parts before you begin—because if anything is missing, it’s way easier to deal with the seller/manufacturer early than halfway through the build. I also show you what the finished setup should look like: a tall bookcase-style rack with multiple shelves and a large “grandfather clock” section built right into the frame. For the build, I focus on keeping it simple and safe. I use a hand screwdriver (you can use an electric one, but you’ve got to be careful not to damage the wood), and I walk through aligning the shelves, making sure the holes face the right direction, and locking everything in with cam locks. I leave the clock install for later (mine even fell out once while I was working), then slide it in at the end and set the time. My favorite part is the silent design—there’s no second-hand needle, so you don’t get that ticking noise—and I also point out the anti-tip strap for extra safety once you decide the final placement.
