About This Video

In this video, I’m testing out the MAONO Wave T1 Mini wireless lavalier mic, and the first thing I noticed is how tiny and pocketable it is. The packaging looks awesome, and on paper you’re getting a lot for a budget mic: 48kHz/16-bit “CD” sound quality, AI voice change, four-step AI noise reduction, and up to 35 hours of battery life with the charging case. It also claims up to 100 meters of wireless transmission, plus you can charge while using it—which is honestly a big deal for longer shoots. I take it outside for a real-world demo where it’s windy and you can hear birds chirping, then I switch between standard audio and noise cancellation. On the mic itself, you can toggle basic noise cancel on/off, but for the stronger “super” noise reduction levels you control it from the receiver. I also walk away to roughly 50–60 feet to check connectivity and it stays solid. What I like most is how fast it connects the moment you pull it out of the case—true plug-and-play with no apps needed (it does show a scan to verify authenticity). If you’re recording on iPhone or Android and want simple, clean audio without headaches, this one is definitely worth a look.
