About This Video

In this video, I do a pretty quick Wi‑Fi setup on my Chamberlain garage door opener (I’m using the B221 TMC model that was installed recently). It’s got the backup battery, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth—basically everything built in—so I’m walking you through how I set it up on my phone using the myQ app. Even if you don’t have this exact opener and you’re using a myQ hub, the app and the flow are very similar. I start inside the myQ app by choosing “garage door opener,” then I match my wall control (mine is the newer black one). The key step is pressing and holding the Learn button on the wall control for about 6 seconds until the LED starts blinking and you hear the beep from the ceiling opener. After that, I turn on location, pair over Bluetooth, and then connect the opener to my home Wi‑Fi (make sure you’re on 2.4GHz). Once it’s connected, you’ll hear a series of beeps, you can name the door, and you can test open/close right from the app. I also show how the app tracks status, time open/close, history, and sends notifications—plus I briefly run into the Amazon Key prompt and show that you can skip/close it if you don’t want to give that access.
