In this video, I install the Wyze Palm Lock step by step, starting by removing my old deadbolt and making sure the included template actually matches my door. My door is metal, so I really didn’t want to drill new holes, and luckily the lock fit and sat flush. I walk through the strike plate and dust box, mounting plate, wiring, and the interior assembly, plus the dual-battery setup (backup battery and main battery). I also point out the two screw lengths (16 and 17) and how door thickness decides which one you should use. After the hardware install, I set it up in the Wyze app, reset the lock (hold the reset button for about 8 seconds), connect it to Wi‑Fi, and run door calibration. My first calibration failed because I didn’t open the door wide enough, so I show you how I fixed that. Then I create an access code and add both palms (right and left), which scans successfully. At the end, I test auto-lock/gyroscope behavior (it locked immediately), but my palm unlock didn’t work due to low battery/backup-battery mode—so I recommend charging the main battery for full performance. My whole install took about 25–30 minutes with just a screwdriver (and maybe a drill if your holes don’t line up).
