In this video I finally rig up my Canon C80 with the Tilta cage and walk you through the install step-by-step—base plate, top plate, side panels, handle, and the little details that can trip you up. Tilta didn’t send me anything here; this is all gear I bought with my own money, so I’m just showing you exactly how I’m setting my C80 up. I also point out the different screws in the kit (one looks noticeably different and goes on the side plate), and I show how everything lines up once it’s tightened down. After the cage is on, I go over the practical accessories I think you should grab right away: extra Canon batteries, a screen protector, and media (I’m running ProGrade UHS-II SD cards). I also talk power—Canon only gives you one AC adapter, so I show a cheaper third-party AC option I’ve used successfully across a bunch of camera systems, and I demonstrate that it powers the C80. From there, I touch on expansion: V-mount plates and cables, audio mounting options like a hot-shoe XLR holder, plus the mini-XLR-to-XLR cable and the basics like HDMI/SDI depending on your monitor setup.
