The goal was straightforward—same whisky, different temperature, honest tasting notes. At room-ish temperature, I found Chivas 12 easy to drink and smooth, with this mild “malty body” kind of note lingering at the back. But the freezer pour shocked me a bit: the burn came back, and somehow everything felt more flavorful. To me, freezing seemed to concentrate the experience—still smooth, but with a stronger punch, more wood showing up, and the flavors “exploding” more in the mouth. My take: if you want maximum flavor impact, try the freezer method. If you’re not really a whisky person and just want easy sipping, the normal version might be more your style.
