About This Video

In this video, I’m reviewing Indri Single Malt Indian whisky (from India), and I’m telling you straight how it drinks in three ways: neat, with a splash of water, and on the rocks. We first came across this bottle at a whisky event (honestly, we couldn’t even remember which one), but I clearly remember the moment we tasted it—we immediately thought, “We have to buy this now.” Of course, we also had quite a lot to drink before that, so this was the real test at home. Right off the pour, the nose is sweet and, importantly, it doesn’t have that overpowering alcohol smell. Neat was the best experience for me—easy to drink and the most enjoyable. When I added a splash of water, the burn actually got amplified (to the point my co-host coughed and I felt it on my lip), which is not what you want when you’re trying to open up a whisky. On the rocks, it turned very, very ordinary, so I wouldn’t do that either. My takeaway: for Indri Single Malt, drink it neat—this is one of those rare times I’ll say it that clearly.
