About This Video

Bar’s open—today I’m reviewing The Irishman The Harvest, and because Singapore has been crazy warm, I filmed in an air-conditioned room so I don’t melt before the whiskey does. This bottle was a gift from my friend Andrea (Italian working in Dublin—met in Japan… I’m still touched), so I treated it like the precious bottle it is and used a pourer. It’s a uniquely shaped 700ml bottle at 40% ABV, and from what I found, it’s around S$80—though you generally can’t buy it easily in Singapore, so you’ll likely need to order online and factor in delivery. As always, I tested it three ways: neat, with a splash of water, and on the rocks. Neat, I got that typical nail-polish-remover note on the nose, but the palate surprised me—smooth, sweet, and to me it leaned citrus rather than the label’s “toffee” claim. With water, it opened up hard: sweeter, fresher, and honestly like sweet fresh orange juice with a whiskey kick—plus still minimal aftertaste. On ice, the sweetness dropped back closer to neat and a slight oiliness popped up for a few seconds. My takeaway: I absolutely enjoyed it, but it tasted best with a bit of water.
