About This Video

Bars open. In this video, I compare two of my most “priced” possessions (and yes, I’m joking about the pricing): Macallan Colour Collection 12 Year Sherry Oak versus Macallan Harmony Collection Green Meadow. I couldn’t remember what I paid originally, but when I checked around, the Colour Collection 12 was about $400+ SGD if you can still find it, while the Harmony Green Meadow was retailing around $100 SGD but is basically out of stock now. Either way, I put them through my usual 3-part tasting: neat, with a splash of water, and on the rocks. On the nose, the Colour Collection 12 gave me exactly what I expected—citrus, orchard fruits, and nutmeg—plus a bit of that “nail polish” note. But the surprise was how easy it drank: sweet, vanilla, and almost no burn, and with water it got even better—more flavours popping across different parts of the mouth, floral up top, sweetness in the middle, still super enjoyable. The Harmony Green Meadow, though? For the packaging, I expected more. It smelled mostly like nail polish, tasted spicier, and felt less flavorful overall; water made it easier but still mild. Final takeaway: Colour Collection 12 wins three out of three. Harmony Green Meadow is most drinkable on the rocks, but honestly, you won’t be missing much if you can’t get your hands on it.
