Quick one today! One of my favourite film stocks is actually Kodak Gold. It might not be the fanciest or the most hype but its the film stock I shoot with the most. It's affordable and gives me a look that I enjoy. I've always wondered the results of pushing this film. Part of me really wanted this to be a hack where I can get an 800 speed film for cheap and.. I was wrong. Results were pretty horrible :(. Should have shot this on a brighter day. This is one of a few videos I plan to do to see how far I can make the most of my favourite film stock! About This Video

Quick one today — I finally tested something I’ve been curious about for a long time: pushing Kodak Gold 200. Gold is honestly one of my favourite film stocks, not because it’s trendy or “premium”, but because it’s the one I shoot the most. It’s affordable, easy to find, and the look just works for the way I like to shoot street and everyday life. Going into this, a part of me really wanted it to be a little “hack” — like, maybe I could rate it at 800 and basically get a cheap high-speed colour film. But yeah… I was wrong. The results were pretty horrible, and it really came down to me shooting it on a day that wasn’t bright enough for what I was trying to do. The big takeaway: pushing Gold 200 isn’t some magic upgrade to 800-speed film, and if you’re going to try it, you need to be way more intentional with light (or just pick a film that’s meant for that situation). This is one of a few tests I’m doing to see how far I can stretch my favourite stock without ruining my roll.
