About This Video

In this video I tested the NF ACOUS (Nfacous) NH20, a ~$200 closed-back “studio” headphone, and compared it directly to the Shure SRH840A (around $150–$170) to see where each one makes sense. I went over build and comfort first—metal face plates that feel cool to the touch, a soft headband, full swivel/pivot, and the fact that the NH20 can lay flat. One feature I really like on the NH20 is the dual-entry cable option, plus you get a proper hard case, two cables (long and short), and a 1/4" adapter. Sound-wise, the NH20 honestly checks a lot of studio boxes for me: neutral bass, accurate overall tuning, and a very vocal-forward presentation—especially for female vocals. The trade-off is the treble is a bit oversharpened (I notice it around that ~8k area), and the sub-bass rolls off, so it won’t give you that deep rumble. For gaming (I tested in Valorant), the angled driver helps and imaging is pretty decent, but the soundstage feels a little small and intimate—likely because the stock pads are thin. Against the Shure 840A, the Shure is clearly more bassy (more mid-bass and sub-bass) and darker up top, with vocals a bit more laid back. So if you want a more neutral, vocal/treble-forward studio listen, I lean NH20; if you want more fun bass and a more “exciting” sound for EDM and low-end heavy tracks, the Shure makes more sense.
