About This Video

In this video I compared two Sivga headphones that are priced and positioned pretty differently: the Sivga Anser (an open-back around $200) and the newer Sivga SV021 Pro Robin. I go over the design and build first—because honestly, a lot of these wood headphones are half about the look—and the Robin does look pretty dope with that shiny shell and themed headband. But the Anser also impressed me with better comfort-focused hardware like real swivel/pivot, a sturdy all-metal extension, and an angled dynamic driver that I’m a big fan of for imaging. Sound-wise, these two don’t feel close. The Robin comes off more mid-range forward and kind of “focused in the middle,” but it doesn’t have the same sub-bass/lower-bass pop and punch, and the treble also feels muted. The Anser is the one I kept preferring: it’s more balanced overall (leaning a little warm/darker), with fun bass for an open-back, solid mids, and a chill treble that makes it easy to listen to for a long time. For staging and gaming, I found the Anser’s imaging pretty decent, and the stage feels more “semi-open”—bigger than a closed-back, but not super wide like some open-backs. If you want a fun, bassy, easy-listening open-back that you can turn up without the treble getting too bright, the Anser is the one I’d pick.
