About This Video

It’s Pokémon Day 2026 and the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon Company, so in this update I break down the biggest Pokémon Presents reveals that are going to matter for the Pokémon TCG. The two headline announcements are the next mainline games, Pokémon Waves & Winds (coming 2027), and the brand-new 30th Anniversary Pokémon TCG set that we all knew was coming. I also talk about the surprise Mega reveal—Mega Garchomp Z—and why that’s instantly a big deal for collectors and competitive players. For Waves & Winds, I run through what we actually saw: the island vibe, the “not official gameplay footage” disclaimer, and how the Switch 2 should handle it. Then I give my first impressions on the starters—Brout (the angry bird with the unibrow), Pom Bon (a fire Pomeranian that’s almost too cute), and Gekka (my pick right now). On the TCG side, I explain why new games always shape the next era of cards—new Pokémon, new mechanics, and future chase legendaries. And for the 30th Anniversary set, the big takeaway is the worldwide simultaneous release and the heavy reprint vibes (base set Charizard, base set Pikachu, Tag Teams, Legends-style cards). I’m excited to see what they do… I’m not excited trying to obtain it.
