Today I finally ripped into the Phantasmal Flames Elite Trainer Boxes—11 days after release—and yeah… it hurt a little. These ETBs are already sitting around $100–$110, and part of me wanted to keep them sealed for the collection. But we’re still hunting the Mega Charizard X SR/SIR, and this was one of the last big products I hadn’t opened yet, so I had to rip the band-aid off and send it. I go through the ETB contents (new packaging, sleeves, Charcadet promo, dividers, dice/coin) and then we jump into the nine packs. Early on I hit a Rotom EX full art, some solid EXs, and then the moment that made me lose it—GOLD Mega Charizard… again. I couldn’t believe it, and of course it peeked on camera like last time, but the pull is real: my second gold Zard from this set. Then I opened a second ETB to keep the Charizard SIR hunt going, picked up more hits like Piplup illustration rare and Mega Gengar EX, but the SIR Zard still dodged me.
