About This Video

Get ready because in this one I’m officially in Charizard Hunt mode. I’m cracking into the brand-new Japanese set Mega Inferno X with one goal: hit one of the big four Charizards in the set—regular Mega Charizard EX, the full art versions, the $700 secret art rare, or the gold MUR Mega Charizard. I start with eight loose packs I’d been sitting on from a stream (and yeah… I’m still more of a scissors guy with Japanese packs), and we actually warm up with some solid hits, including Wigglytuff art rare and the regular Mega Charizard EX. Then I rip two full booster boxes with guaranteed hits per box, chasing that big Zard while tracking the usual box breakdown (EXs, art rares, a secret rare item, and the secret rare PokĆ©mon slot). Box one turns into a bit of a Low Pony situation—SR Mega Lopunny and no Charizard in the secret slot—though we do land some of the better art rares like Piplup and Flygon. Box two is way more exciting: I pull the Dawn SAR (which I think is the best ā€œSā€ that’s not a PokĆ©mon), plus more solid art rares like Charadet and Togedemaru… and yes, Mega Sharpedo absolutely trolled me with the yellow corner. No gold Zard, no $700 SIR, but the chase is real—and I’m already thinking about how this set feels like a ā€œZard or bustā€ situation heading into Fantasmal Flames.
